SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN to play Christmas season at Sheffield Theatres prior to UK tour

Sheffield Theatres, in association with Jonathan Church Theatre Productions, will present the Chichester Festival Theatre and Stage Entertainment smash-hit production of Singin’ in the Rain for a Christmas season at the Crucible, Sheffield from 26 November 2026 – 16 January 2027 prior to a UK tour, it has been announced.

After beginning his career at Sheffield Theatres, Jonathan Church returns to the theatre for 2026's Crucible Christmas musical with an irresistibly charming take on the classic film.

Journey back to the glamour of Hollywood in the roaring 20s with high-energy choreography and sumptuous set designs (including over 14,000 litres of water on stage), combined with all the romance and wit of one of the world’s best-loved films.

Following a Christmas season at Sheffield Theatres, the production will then commence a major UK tour visiting Southend, Belfast, Dublin, Sunderland, Canterbury, Dartford, Milton Keynes, Leeds, Woking, Liverpool, Glasgow, High Wycombe, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Southampton, Norwich, Salford, Eastbourne, Nottingham, and Cardiff.

Singin’ in the Rain is directed by Jonathan Church, with choreography by Andrew Wright, additional choreography by Jayne Elster, set and costume design by Simon Higlett, lighting by Tim Mitchell, sound by Gareth Owen, video design by Ian Galloway, musical supervision by Robert Scott, orchestrations by Larry Blank, fight direction by Malcolm Ranson, and casting by Olivia Laydon for Jill Green Casting.
