Full casting announced for workshop performances of new musical MONA LOSER

Full casting has been announced for the upcoming public workshop performances of Buchan and Barne’s new musical Mona Lisa, which will be held at Southwark Playhouse Borough from 16-19 July.

Produced by Tim Johanson Productions with Birmingham Hippodrome in association with Southwark Playhouse, Mona Loser is a contemporary musical set in the music industry about viral fame, fakery, and identity, drawing inspiration from Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein and the modern monsters created on and offline.

The cast includes Melanie-Joyce Bermudez (Love’s Labour’s Lost, RSC), Ahmed Hamad (Standing At The Sky’s Edge, National Theatre), Chad Saint Louis (After the Act, Royal Court), Annabel Marlow (Muriel’s Wedding, Curve), Rumi Sutton (Miss Saigon, Sheffield Crucible), and Stevie Webb (Shucked, Regents Park Theatre).

Further creatives joining the team include musical director Katy Richardson, lighting designer Harriet White, sound designer Rob Atkinson, and casting director Olivia Laydon for Jill Green Casting.

Featuring an original pop score by Kit Buchan and Jim Barne, and directed by Tim Jackson, the workshop marks the first chance for audiences to glimpse this work-in-development as it begins its creation and development process. Due to exceptional demand, a final allocation of tickets has been released today for these previously sold-out workshop performances.
