Full cast announced for WHO’S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? at @sohoplace

Full casting has been announced for the new production of Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, directed in-the-round by Marianne Elliott, which runs @sohoplace from 21 September - 19 December.

Joining Gillian Anderson as Martha and Billy Crudup as George will be Josh Dylan (Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again) as Nick, and Phoebe Horn (Rock ‘n’ Roll, National Theatre) as Honey. The understudies are Alex Cartuson (War Horse, National Theatre) as Understudy Nick, Jessica Kirton (Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club, West End) as Understudy Martha, Georgia Miles (Romeo & Juliet, Pleasance) as Understudy Honey, and Simon Willmont (The Other Place, National Theatre) as Understudy George.

“I swear… if you existed, I’d divorce you”

In the early hours of the morning on the campus of an American college, Martha, much to her husband George’s displeasure, has invited the new professor Nick and his wife Honey to their home for some after-party drinks. As the alcohol flows and dawn approaches, the young couple are drawn into George and Martha’s toxic games until the evening reaches its climax in a moment of devastating truth-telling.

The creative team also includes designer Miriam Buether, lighting designer James Farncombe, sound designer Ian Dickinson, casting directors Jim Carnahan, CSA and Liz Fraser, CSA, movement and intimacy direction by Ingrid Mackinnon, voice and dialect coach Charmian Hoare, and fight director Sam Lyon-Behan (Fight Director).
