Fringe Review: PRIMARY SCHOOL BANGERS, Debating Hall at Gilded Balloon Teviot

Internet and Edinburgh Fringe sensation James B Partridge is back for another round of Primary School Bangers! In this show, Partridge takes us back to the school assembly hall to sing some classic songs and reminisce over all things British childhood.
It should be stated that your reviewer is perhaps a little younger than Partridge’s target audience - some of the songs your reviewer knows more from Partridge's social media content than school. Nevertheless, we still had great fun at the show. There is a great selection of songs included so you're bound to know a few.
James B Partridge is a fantastic entertainer. As is evident from his online content, he is a gifted musician. In the show, he sings excellently, accompanying himself on the keyboard. He switches to guitar for a segment of the show proving he has more than two strings to his bow. His dialogue is also written with incredible wit and delivered with great comic timing. We can't help but think he'd make a wonderful pantomime comic!
A shout out must also go to the Gilded Balloon’s tech team. The lighting design is full of creativity, enhancing the on stage action and making us all feel involved. The sound is consistently crystal clear and we hear every single word - important when the intention is that we sing along!
Primary School Bangers is sure to put a smile on your face and offers something a little different to add to your Fringe schedule.
