The Young Vic have announced the Broadway production of The Collaboration, which will open at Manhattan Theatre Club’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre from 29 November as part of MTC’s 2022/23 Season.

This marks the second Young Vic production to receive a Broadway premiere this year, following the announcement last month that the Young Vic’s Olivier Award-Winning production of Death of a Salesman, starring Wendell Pierce and Sharon D Clarke, will open at the Hudson Theatre, Broadway on 19 September.

Warhol. Basquiat. Electric, eccentric, polar opposites...together, for the first time in the most unlikely partnership the art world has ever seen.

In the summer of 1984, longtime international superstar Andy Warhol and the art scene’s newest wunderkind, Jean-Michel Basquiat, agree to work together on what may be the most talked about exhibition in the history of modern art. But can these two creative giants co-exist, or even thrive?

Written by four-time Oscar Nominee Anthony McCarten, and directed by Artistic Director of the Young Vic Theatre Kwame Kwei-Armah, the Broadway production will see multi award-winning actor Paul Bettany (The Avengers, WandaVision) and two-time Tony Award nominee Jeremy Pope (Choir Boy, Ain’t Too Proud) reprise their roles as Andy Warhol and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
