Winners of 2022 Evening Standard Theatre Awards revealed

The winners of the 66th Evening Standard Theatre Awards were announced in a ceremony at The Ivy, compered by Sheridan Smith, last night (11 December), with Jodie Comer and James McAvoy collecting the awards for Best Actress and Actor for their performances in Prima Facie and Cyrano de Bergerac respectively.

Other winners include: Best of Enemies at the Young Vic (Best Play), Oklahoma! at the Young Vic (Best Musical), Patrick Vaill for Oklahoma! at the Young Vic (Best Musical Performance), Lynette Linton for Blues for an Alabama Sky at the National Theatre (Best Director), Tom Scutt for Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club (Best Design), Tyrell Williams for Red Pitch at the Bush Theatre (Most Promising Playwright), and Isobel McArthur for Pride and Prejudice* sort of (Emerging Talent), with Nica Burns and Vanessa Redgrave picking up special awards for their work during the pandemic.
