West End legend Kerry Ellis welcomed as next guest on THE SHOW PEOPLE PODCAST
The award-winning The Show People Podcast live from Queer Theatre will welcome the highly celebrated West End and Broadway actress Kerry Ellis as its upcoming guest on 13 May.
Hosted live by award winning theatre director and Queer Theatre Artistic Director Andrew Keates at The Two Brewers in Clapham, The Show People Podcast offers an intimate and engaging experience. In this episode, Andrew will guide audiences through Kerry’s acclaimed stage career, offering industry insight and reflections on her experience in the performing arts.
Taking place every month in front of a live audience at the Two Brewers, The Show People Podcast welcomes a new special guest for each episode, making every show exciting, inspiring and insightful. The evening will include an interval and complimentary access to the venue’s cabaret and DJ event after the recording.
Recent guests of the podcast include Olivier Award-winning Jack Holden, Tony Award-nominated Michael Sherman, Star Trek star Marina Sirtis, and Queer Theatre patrons Sir Stephen Fry and Sir Ian McKellen.
All profits from the night will support Queer Theatre’s work across its wide-ranging programme, including Acting Classes for LGBTQIA+ people, OutCast showcases, the Queer Play Reading Club, Luvvie: The Patry for Queer People In The Performing Arts, Walk & Talks for queer creatives in the countryside, parties, and new productions.
Artistic Director Andrew Keates said: “To sit opposite such titans of the performing arts each month is one of the great privileges of my life. From Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Stephen Fry to Jack Holden, Pearl Mackie, Marina Sirtis and now Kerry Ellis, these are performers who have left indelible marks on audiences all around the world. What I value most is when these conversations move beyond tried and tested anecdotes and into honest, vulnerable accounts of life in the performing arts, including the struggles, sacrifices and lessons learned along the way.
“It will be a huge privilege to welcome Kerry Ellis to The Show People Podcast. I know she wants to share some things she has not spoken about publicly before, and I cannot wait to hear more about her remarkable life and career, which has so often defied gravity.”
