WEBF announce official media partnership with THE JONATHAN LARSON PROJECT

Besties, we're thrilled to announce that West End Best Friend is the Official Media Partner for exciting new musical, The Jonathan Larson Project!

Thirty years after the loss of one of musical theatre's greatest visionaries, this electrifying celebration of the ground breaking composer behind Rent and tick, tick… BOOM! will make its highly anticipated European premiere at Southwark Playhouse Borough from 9 July - 22 August.

Following a critically acclaimed New York premiere, The Jonathan Larson Project is being reimagined for London by original Off Broadway director John Simpkins, with a stellar cast of West End favourites - Max Harwood, Imelda Warren-Green, Michael Mather, Natalie Kassanga and Marcus Collins.

Featuring previously unheard songs (EEK!) from Larson's extensive archives, this is a rare and exhilarating window into Larson’s creative world, an opportunity to experience unheard material from one of the most influential voices in contemporary musical theatre.

The Jonathan Larson Project, about a young man following his heart in New York City trying to change the world, promises to be one of the most fascinating new musical events of the summer.

This is the perfect show for fans looking to discover their next musical obsession. And what better way to honour Larson's legacy than by experiencing new work from the artist whose influence can still be felt across musical theatre today?

The London production holds special significance, marking 30 years since Larson’s death in January 1996, just one day before Rent’s first performance in New York.

We'll be bringing you exclusive coverage, updates and content throughout the show's journey to opening night and beyond.

And we can exclusively reveal today that due to overwhelming demand, an extra preview matinee has just been added on 11 July at 2.30pm. With all of the other previews sold out, tickets are sure to fly out fast for this extra performance.

Who's adding this one to their must-see list? 👀🎭
