The Tank to present a virtual production of BORDERS - A Dirty Laundry Theatre Production from next week

Borders

A virtual production of Borders will be presented by The Tank from 11 February, a Dirty Laundry Theatre Production in association with the LGBT Community Center.

Written by Nimrod Danishman and directed by Michael R. Piazza, Borders first premiered in 2019. The play follows the virtual encounter of Boaz and George, who meet on Grindr. They want to meet in person, but something prevents them from doing so. One lives in Israel, the other - in Lebanon. Through their virtual relationship, they examine the meaning of borders—real and imagined, physical and not.

The play has been adapted for online presentation, combining live performance with multimedia and video elements, pulling the audience into a virtual but intimately real environment reminiscent of a physical theatre.

Borders will stream live from 11-27 February 2021 on CyberTank, and will be available for viewing on The Tank’s pay-per-view platform from 28 February-13 March.

On Wednesday 24 February at 6.30pm EST, The Center will also host “Queering The Middle (East),” a virtual panel discussion with the director and actors in the cast.
