THE RAILWAY CHILDREN to steam into The Other Palace this summer

Shenley Productions will present a new adaptation of E. Nesbit's The Railway Children in the Studio Theatre at The Other Palace in London on 15 & 16 August, it has been announced.

The cast will perform the production in the style of a radio play and the imaginative storytelling will be enhanced with sound effects and music.

The much-loved story concerns a family, including the children Roberta (nicknamed Bobbie), Peter and Phyllis, who move from London to the Three Chimneys, a house near a railway, in Yorkshire after the father, who works at the Foreign Office, is imprisoned after being accused of spying.

The cast includes Flora London as Roberta, Xavier Moras Spencer as Peter, Kate Mellor Hine as Phyllis, Jonathan Kydd (Minder) as Father/Cart Man/Narrator, Corrinne Wicks (Doctors) as Mother, Dan Starkey as Albert Perks, Abbey Norman as Mrs Perks, Brian Capron (Coronation Street) as Old Gentleman, Graham Seed (The Archers) as Dr Forrest/Narrator, and Sabina Franklyn (Midsomer Murders) as Parlourmaid/Mrs Viney/Narrator.

The play is written and produced by Paul Burton and directed by Sarah Lawrie.
