THE GHOST AND MRS. MUIR moves to second workshop with star-studded award-winning cast

Exciting new musical The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, an adaptation from acclaimed romantic-fantasy novel, will have a second workshop in May 2025 before a full stage production in 2026.

This timeless romance between a young widowed mother and the ghost of a sea captain leads to finding liberation from grief and loneliness.

Captain Gregg will be brought to life by Obioma Ugoala (Frozen; Hamilton, West End), with Olivier nominated Laura Pitt-Pulford (Standing at the Sky’s Edge, West End) as Mrs Muir, Olivier-award nominated Preeya Kalidas (Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, West End) as Martha, and Olivier award nominated Sharif Afifi (The Band’s Visit, Donmar Warehouse) as Miles.

The cast also includes Julie Armstrong (Follies, National Theatre) as Eva, Patrick Clancy (Young Frankenstein, West End) as Mr. Coombe, Connor Ewing (The Phantom Of The Opera, UK tour) as Cyril Muir, and Rowan Macpherson (Babies, The Other Palace) as Anna Muir.

With music and lyrics by Carmel Dean and a book by Penelope Faith, the workshop will be directed by Kenneth Hoyt, with musical direction by Candida Caldicot, and creative consultancy by Raymond Sage.

Adapted from the acclaimed 1945 novel, the story was an immediate sensation and is widely considered to be one of the most classic love stories of all time. This new musical showcases the boundless nature of true love and its ability to transcend this life and beyond.
