Sydnie Christmas to release brand new single ‘RUN’ on 17 April

Singer, songwriter and star of the West End Sydnie Christmas will release her new single ‘Run’ on 17 April, through Westway Music, marking a defining new chapter in her career as a recording artist.

Written by Sydnie, alongside Gabrielle Aplin and Ash Howes (who also produces the track), ‘Run’ introduces audiences to Sydnie’s own songwriting voice for the very first time. You can pre-order the track here.

An emotionally charged, powerful, cinematic pop song, ‘Run’ captures the moment of choosing bravery over fear while exploring vulnerability, resilience and the quiet power of self-belief. The song showcases Sydnie’s unmistakable and extraordinarily rich vocal and her deeply emotive storytelling.

Sydnie said: ‘I'm very proud to be releasing my first co-written song, ‘Run’. Writing is such a hard process and it’s very hard not to think about trying to write a hit, when there’s no easy recipe for that. Actually, what you need to do is just write from the heart and be honest and that’s what I’ve been doing writing for my new album. I’ve been writing songs since I was 11 and writing this album is a journey I've longed to be on since then. It’s become clear to me that you need to write the songs YOU want to write, telling the stories YOU want to tell.

“I’m passionate about lyrics and the motivation behind them. Long before my BGT success, determination, motivation and self-belief were the only cards I had to play with and that’s why the lyrics to Run came so naturally to me. I knew exactly what I wanted to say and the words are those that I have always wanted to hear. As someone branching out of musical theatre, which is what people have known me for, I need to push forward towards the horizon, which is a daunting, but exciting risk. Run is a reminder for me, and for everyone else, that whatever road we are on, it’s the road we’re meant to be on. So ‘RUN RUN RUN RUN’.”

‘Run’ will be the first track from Sydnie’s second album, to be released on 18 September this year.

You can pre-order a signed copy of the physical album now here.
