Stage Entertainment Spain announces musical EL ALMA AL AIRE

Stage Entertainment, the leading musical theatre production company responsible for hits such as The Lion King, Anastasia, TINA - The Tina Turner musical, and Cinderella, announces the upcoming premiere of El alma al aire, an ambitious new project that will see the light of day in Madrid.

This is an original production by Stage Entertainment, featuring some of the most iconic songs from Alejandro Sanz's career. The musical, which has the artist's support and a libretto by Alvaro Tato (winner of two Max Awards), will offer audiences a unique experience.

Currently in pre-production, El alma al aire will premiere in Madrid soon, consolidating the capital as a benchmark for musical theatre in Spain.

The story transports us to a fishing village where characters from different generations face important decisions that will shape their destiny.

Stage Entertainment, a leading theatre production company focused on musical theatre in Europe, was founded in 1998.

Stage Entertainment owns and manages a network of sixteen theatres, where it produces some of the best-known musicals developed by international partners and their creative teams, such as Disney's The Lion King, Aladdin, and Moulin Rouge! The Musical. Stage Entertainment also creates its own high-quality original content, such as Anastasia and TINA - The Tina Turner Musical. The company employs 2,000 people worldwide and has a presence in the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, London's West End and Broadway in New York. Today, the Stage Entertainment brand is known for the exceptional quality of its shows and the hospitality it offers audiences in each of its theatres.

In Spain, the production company has attracted more than 19 million viewers to one of its productions.

In 2011, Stage Entertainment premiered the largest musical production ever presented in Spain at the Lope de Vega Theatre in Madrid: The Lion King. In 2025, the musical celebrates its 15th season, surpassing 7,000,000 viewers in more than 5,000 performances, making this show a national phenomenon.

In October 2025, Madrid became the first European city to premiere the new version of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, with a libretto by Douglas Carter Beane and directed by director and choreographer Anthony Van Laast.

Stage Entertainment Spain is also immersed in the remodelling of what will be its new theatre in Madrid: the Stage Gran Teatro Musical. Located in the former IMAX cinema, it will open in 2027 and will host major musical theatre productions never before seen in our country.

Stage Entertainment sells more than 1 million tickets a year in Spain and is the undisputed leader in the sector.
