SONGS OF THE SEASON to transform Birmingham Cathedral into Christmas wonderland

St Philip’s Cathedral will be transformed into a spectacular Christmas setting on 5 December for Songs of the Season, bringing together world-class performers and some of Birmingham’s brightest young talent for a very special celebration.

Taking place within the stunning surroundings of Birmingham Cathedral, Songs of the Season will feature a programme of much-loved Christmas classics alongside beautiful and heart-warming traditional hymns.

For one special day, the Cathedral will be filled with music and spectacular lighting, transforming one of Birmingham’s most iconic landmarks into a Christmas wonderland and creating an immersive festive experience for audiences of all ages.

Alongside world-class performers, the concert will celebrate the wealth of young talent within Birmingham’s theatre and performing arts community, with performers of all ages taking part.

Joining the celebration will be School of Theatre Excellence, Starbuck Theatre Company, VSMT, Cotteridge Musical Theatre Club in collaboration with SOTE, and The Theatre Workshop, giving young local performers the opportunity to perform as part of this unique festive event.

With the Cathedral illuminated by beautiful lighting as the music fills the historic building, Songs of the Season promises to offer audiences a spectacular visual experience as well as an evening of festive music.

Whether it marks the beginning of the Christmas celebrations, a festive family outing or simply an opportunity to enjoy some of the season’s best-loved music, Songs of the Season aims to bring together the Birmingham community for a memorable celebration of Christmas.
