RSC’s MATILDA THE MUSICAL announces cast for upcoming touring production

Casting has been announced for the upcoming tour of the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of Matilda The Musical, which begins performances at Curve, Leicester on 6 October.

Madison Davis, Mollie Hutton, Olivia Ironmonger and Sanna Kurihara will share the title role of Matilda.

Richard Hurst (Dear Evan Hansen, UK tour) will play Miss Trunchbull, with Tessa Kadler (Les Miserables, UK tour) as Miss Honey, Adam Stafford (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, UK tour) as Mr Wormwood, and Rebecca Thornhill (Girl from the North County, West End) as Mrs Wormwood.

They are joined by Scotty Armstrong (Chess, Royal Albert Hall), Sam Holden (Hamilton, West End), Portia Jefferies (Treadstone, Apple TV), Caiomhe Judd (School of Rock, West End), Brooke Kelly (Matilda the Musical, West End/International tour), Ryan Lay (Mrs Doubtfire the Musical, West End), Cassandra Lee (Jesus Christ Superstar, UK tour), Samuel Leon (FAME, International tour), Jordan Maisuria-Wake (Come Fall In Love, Manchester Opera House), Nicole Manumbre (Seraphina, Birmingham Royal Ballet), Lizzie Nance (Muriel’s Wedding the Musical, Curve), Esther Niles (RSC’s Hamlet, UK tour/Kennedy Centre), Jordan Ricketts (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, West End/UK tour), Josh Singleton (Mean Girls, West End), Bradley Trevethan (42nd Street, Kilworth House), Ella Tweed (Mamma Mia!, West End), Ben Tyler (The Book of Mormon, West End), and Karen Walker (We Will Rock You, London Coliseum/UK tour).

The other young performers announced today are: Rudy Bragg, Jacob Connor-Ashton, Charlie Cox, Sylvie Grace, Rose Jammeh, Dottie Jones, Takunda Khumalo, Sana Lennon, Oisin-Luca Pegg, Millie-May Mankowska, Tate Masuku, Leo Maurice, Carter-J Murphy, Jaxon James Nolan, Cole Nicholson, Pixie Pettigrew, Brodie Robson, Haiden Sihapanya and Felix Schmitt.

Following its run in Leicester, Matilda The Musical travels to Bradford, Liverpool, Plymouth, Sunderland, Edinburgh, Manchester, Southampton, Bristol, Birmingham, Norwich, Milton Keynes and Cardiff where the show will play over Christmas until 17 January 2027. Final tour dates will be announced in September 2025.

Written by Dennis Kelly, with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin and developed and directed by Matthew Warchus, the production is designed by Rob Howell, with choreography by Peter Darling, orchestrations, additional music and musical supervision by Christopher Nightingale, lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound by Simon Baker, and special effects and illusions by Paul Kieve.
