Review: Stiles & Drewe’s THE 3 BILLY GOATS GRUFF Studio Cast Recording
SimG Records’ new release of The Three Billy Goats Gruff Studio Cast Recording is a ‘Rock ‘n’ Troll’ musical, which sees West End performers Tyrone Huntley (Jesus Christ Superstar, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre), Millie O’Connell (The Cher Show, UK tour), Michael Xavier (Sunset Boulevard, West End), Lizzie Bea (Sister Act, Eventim Apollo & UK tour), and David Bedella (& Juliet, West End) take on some very different roles!
It’s filled with witty lyrics and memorable melodies, penned by George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, and tells the story of The Three Billy Goats Gruff and how they manage to outwit a greedy troll to cross the bridge to their feeding ground.
The album consists of twelve tracks, with orchestrations by Ruth Ling; Bedella voices the troll, with Bea as Little Bo-Frilly who helps the goats and O’Connell, Huntley and Xavier as the three billy goats, there’s a little something for the adults as well as the kids!
It’s uplifting, toe-tapping, good old-fashioned storytelling and guaranteed to keep the younger kids entertained whilst the adults time to have a quiet cuppa!
