Fringe review: A TINDERELLA STORY: SWIPE, WINCE, REPEAT, J Murphy - Edinburgh Festival Fringe

Canadian comedian J Murphy takes us on a journey through some of their strangest dates. From lies about age and marital status, to money laundering, crypto scams and an attempt to 'blow her pants off' with a steak dinner.

It's something that any of us who have ever dated can relate to, but how do we navigate this dangerous world of dating? How do we find ourselves surrounded by all this outrageous behaviour and how do we get ourselves out of it?

J Murphy's delivery is friendly and honest; it feels like we could be chatting with friends about their experiences and sharing their cringeworthy despair. It's a subject that leads with a certain amount of vulnerability, but the feeling that whatever is spoken about and shared 'stays in the room' is clearly there.

It's a light hearted and stoic telling of situations that could otherwise leave you weeping out loud but the realisation is that it's not you, it's them! Imagine the stories you would be telling if you had ignored these red flags!

If you're looking for a fresh, no holds barred, authentic take on today's dating scene or simply want to be reassured you're not alone, then this is the show for you.

Funny, forthright and fabulous!
