Legendary stage and screen actress Dame Diana Rigg has sadly passed away at the age of 82.

Fondly remembered for her roles in The Avengers, James Bond and Game of Thrones, she was diagnosed with cancer in March.

She most recently starred in ITV’s Victoria and the new adaptation of All Creatures Great and Small on Channel 5.

Rigg trained at RADA and landed her first job with the RSC from 1959-1964. She also went on to perform in the National Theatre’s rep company at the Old Vic between 1972-1975.

In 1987, she starred in the West End production of Follies and from 1992, played the title character in Medea; a role which she won a Tony Award for.

In more recent times, her stage credits included The Cherry Orchard and Hay Fever at Chichester Festival Theatre, All About My Mother at the Old Vic, Pymalion in the West End and My Fair Lady on Broadway in 2018.
