Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre announces full cast of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM
Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre has announced full casting for William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, in a new production directed by Atri Banerjee, running from 20 June – 18 July.
The cast includes Issam Al Ghussain (Cutting the Tightrope, Arcola Theatre) as Flute, Rachel Barnes (Manic Street Creature, Kiln Theatre) as Moth, Georgia Bruce (Fiddler on the Roof, West End/UK tour) as Puck, Misia Butler (The Amber Trap, Theatre503) as Lysander, Neil D'Souza (Indian Ink, Hampstead Theatre) as Snug/Egeus, Amelia Gabriel (Little Women, Salisbury Playhouse/UK tour) as Mustardseed, Harriet Gordon-Anderson (Scenes From The Climate Era, Gate Theatre) as Quince, Rori Hawthorn (A Gig for Ghosts, Soho Theatre) as Cobweb, Olivier Huband (A Doll’s House, Almeida Theatre) as Oberon/Theseus, Nadeem Islam (Anthony & Cleopatra, Shakespeare’s Globe) as Bottom, Damien James (Teeth ‘n’ Smiles, West End) as Peaseblossom, Terique Jarrett (Choir Boy, Stratford East/Bristol Old Vic) as Demetrius, Evie Jones (Solstice, Battersea Arts Centre) as Snout, Mary Malone (Fangirls, Lyric Hammersmith) as Helena, Hiftu Quasem (Same Team – A Street Soccer Story, Traverse Theatre) as Hermia, Jenny Rainsford (Blithe Spirit, Salisbury Playhouse/Blackpool Grand) as Titania/Hippolyta, and Dumile Sibanda (A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong, West End/UK tour) as Starveling.
Director Atri Banerjee said: “I’m so pleased to be directing Shakespeare’s beloved comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. There is no play better suited to the Park’s surroundings, and it feels like a special privilege to be making this version for 2026: the responsibility to audiences feels immense and thrilling. “This green plot shall be our stage”, says Quince, and I can’t wait to work with this extraordinary group of actors and creatives to make art, make music, and collectively dream this summer.”
The creative team also includes musical director Rachel Barnes, set designer Naomi Dawson, intimacy and fight director Yarit Dor, movement director Anjali Mehra, composer and musical arranger Maimuna Memon, costume designer Tomás Palmer, sound designer Max Pappenheim, lighting designer Joshua Pharo, casting director Jacob Sparrow, and voice and text director Emma Woodvine.
