There’s something special happening this summer at the end of Brighton Palace Pier that hasn’t been seen for fifty years, since the heyday of Summer Season. Live entertainment is back on the pier – this time for only two weeks, but who knows what could grow from this new beginning.
The End of the Pier Show is a 45-minute family musical which aims to bring the history of the pier to life through images, a story about travelling though time, and plenty of song and dance. Audiences are even promised the chance to learn to play the spoons!
The show features a mix of classic seaside tunes and hits from artists who have appeared at the pier over the years, celebrating entertainment by the sea, and aiming to bring together people of all ages in community entertainment.
Cast members Neith Alexandra, Ted Brickley, Alex Kaill, Louise Newington, and Evie Newman will be performing several times a day until 22 August, but hope to be back again for a longer season in future.
The End of the Pier Show is produced and written by Allison Ferns and choreographer Jack Pallister.
