Paulus asks "WHAT WOOD VICTORIA DO?" in brand new musical celebration of comedy icon
Following the success of the critically acclaimed Looking For Me Friend, Paulus The Cabaret Geek is returning with a brand-new theatrical celebration of the life, music and enduring legacy of Victoria Wood.
What Wood Victoria Do? will embark on its inaugural UK tour this autumn, opening at the newly named Victoria Wood Theatre in Cumbria on 25 September, inviting audiences to imagine how one of Britain's most beloved comedians might make sense of modern life.
From air fryers and The Repair Shop to the latest pop culture phenomena, the new production takes inspiration from Victoria Wood's unmistakable observational humour, combining her iconic songs with brand-new storytelling that celebrates the friendships, communities and everyday moments that made her work so universally adored.
Created by the team behind Looking For Me Friend, the show explores the women who always have the right advice over a cup of tea, aren't afraid to share an opinion and somehow make everything feel a little brighter. Audiences can expect an evening filled with music, laughter and nostalgia, featuring a fresh selection from the Victoria Wood Songbook.
The production is directed by multi-award-winning performer and writer Sarah-Louise Young (An Evening Without Kate Bush), bringing together heartfelt storytelling and musical comedy in a tribute to one of Britain's greatest comic voices.
While Victoria Wood may no longer be with us, What Wood Victoria Do? promises to celebrate the warmth, wit and wisdom that continue to resonate with audiences everywhere, reminding us that community can be built through laughter, gossip and a packet of Custard Creams.
