New partnership to shine a light on theatre opportunities
At West End Best Friend, we believe that the theatre industry should be accessible to everyone, not just those who already know the right people. Whether you're an aspiring performer, an emerging director, a writer, a producer, a backstage creative or simply someone looking to build a career in theatre, finding opportunities to develop your skills, gain experience and make connections can often feel like a job in itself.
That's why we're thrilled to announce our new partnership with Theatre Pathways, a brilliant initiative dedicated to making professional development opportunities more accessible to people across the country.
We know how much talent exists within our industry, and we also know that talent alone isn't always enough. Access to information, networks and opportunities can make a huge difference in someone's career, and we want to do our bit to help make those opportunities easier to find. By partnering with Theatre Pathways, we're hoping to use the West End Best Friend platform to reach more people, shine a light on opportunities that might otherwise go unnoticed, and help more brilliant creatives take their next steps in the industry.
So, what does this mean for you?
Starting this coming Monday (12 October), every Monday we'll be sharing opportunities from Theatre Pathways across our social media channels, helping you discover ways to develop your skills, build your experience, connect with other creatives and take the next step in your theatre career. We'll also be sharing these opportunities through our mailing list, so you can have them delivered straight to your inbox and never miss a chance to get involved.
Here's a little more about Theatre Pathways:
Theatre Pathways was created by Angie Fullman in April 2025 for artists and theatre folk, to share opportunities for artist and professional development, and chances to build skills, experience and community to further theatre careers across the country.
The idea was born because there is no one place to go to find these development opportunities across the sector and if you don’t have connections in the industry already, they can be difficult to find. The aim is to share opportunities more widely, demystify possible pathways for theatre careers and make it easier to find opportunities and ways to connect with like minded creatives and community.
Theatre Pathways is thrilled to be partnering with West End Best Friend to reach more people, help remove barriers to entry in theatre and work together to make the industry we love a better place for the brilliant artists and passionate people that want to be part of it.
We're incredibly excited to get started and hope this partnership will help open doors, inspire the next generation of theatre-makers and remind people that there isn't just one way to build a career in theatre.
Keep an eye on our socials every Monday, and make sure you're signed up to our mailing list so you don't miss out. Your next opportunity could be just around the corner.
