New musical MALLORY ON THE MOUNTAIN debuts at The Lowry this month

New musical Mallory On The Mountain by Ollie Mills will debut at The Lowry on 19 October as part of their annual "Rewrites" Festival.

The production is currently in development with Imaginality Productions and was workshopped at Hope Mill Theatre last year.

Mallory on the Mountain is based on the fascinating true story of George Mallory, who grew up in the North West in the 1800s before going on to pioneer the original attempts on Everest in the 1920s.

Directed by Ollie Mills, the concert version at the Lowry will be performed by a cast of six, led by Alex Cosgriff as George Mallory and Emma Harvey as Ruth Mallory.
