New musical EXTREMELY LOUD & INCREDIBLY CLOSE to play industry showcase at London’s Union Theatre
Sisco Entertainment has announced that the first industry showcase of Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, a new musical in development, based on the novel by Jonathan Safran Foer, will be performed at London’s Union Theatre on 30 September.
The showcase follows the start of the production's workshop this week.
Foer's novel follows nine-year-old Oskar Schell who, one year after losing his father, discovers a mysterious key hidden amongst his father's belongings and embarks on an extraordinary journey across New York City to find the lock it opens. Along the way, he encounters a community of strangers whose lives become intertwined with his own, revealing hidden family secrets and unexpected connections. Told through Oskar's vivid imagination, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close is a new musical about grief, love and the connections that bind us together.
The showcase features Jon Robyns, Rebecca Trehearn, Lucy Schaufer, Graham Bickley, Nicholas Pound, Lemuel Knights, Madalena Alberto, Landi Oshinowo, Iverson Yabut, Heather Lundstedt, Shivanne Shubash and Oisín Nolan-Power, with the role of Oskar Schell shared by Patrick O'Grady and Theo Wake.
Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close has a book and lyrics by Victoria Gimby and music and lyrics by Stuart Matthew Price. It is directed by Victoria Gimby, with musical supervision by Sean Green, and musical direction by Oliver Rew.
The showcase is presented for an invited audience of producers, co-producers, investors, venues and industry guests.
