Musical Concerts announced for Theatre Royal Drury Lane

Three musical concerts have been announced for August at Theatre Royal Drury Lane.

1 August will see Chess starring Hadley Fraser and Samantha Barks, set to the backdrop of the cold war and following a competitive chess rivalry. Direction and choreography by Nick Winston, associate direction and choreography by Alexandra Sarmiento and musical direction by Freddie Tapner. Further casting is to be announced.

Followed by Kinky Boots on 8 August. With Matt Willis as Charlie, who deals with his legacy and the future of his family’s show-making factory. Also starring Courtney Bowman as Lauren and Cedric Neal as Lola. Directed by Omar F. Okai and musical direction by Freddie Tapner, further casting to follow shortly. The show previously closed in the West End in 2019.

The final show Treason will be on the 22 August. Directed by Hannah Chissick, with choreography by Taylor Walker, this new musical tells the story of those involved in the 5 November Gunpowder Plot and is set for an all-star cast, including Carrie Hope Fletcher, Bradley Jaden, Simon-Anthony Rhoden, Les Dennis, Emilie Louise Israel, Rebecca Lachance, Daniel Boys, Cedric Neal, Waylon Jacobs and Adam Pearce.
