Mercury Theatre announces full cast for Charles Dickens’ GREAT EXPECTATIONS
Colchester’s Mercury Theatre have announced the full cast for their upcoming production of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations, which plays at the venue from 12-27 May.
Adapted by Gale Childs Daly, Ryan McBryde directs Stanton Wright (Twelfth Night, RSC) as Pip, alongside Bessy Ewa (& Juliet, West End), Jim Fish (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, West End), Gareth Kennerley (Trouble in Butetown, Donmar Warehouse), Sam Lupton (Bedknobs & Broomsticks, UK tour) and Emily Pollet (Hay Fever, UK tour).
Following the childhood and young adult years of a blacksmith’s apprentice, Dickens’ much loved protagonist Pip comes into a large fortune from a mysterious benefactor and moves to London where he enters high society.
The production is designed by Libby Todd, with lighting by Rajiv Pattani, sound/composition by Stefan Janik, movement direction by Chihiro Kawasaki, and casting by Natalie Gallacher c/o Pippa Ailion Casting.
