Irish Rep announces summer 2022 season

Irish Repertory Theatre has announced two productions for their Summer 2022 season.

A new production of Yes! Reflections of Molly Bloom will begin previews on 8 June and runs until 17 July. The season will also feature the world premiere of new musical The Butcher Boy, which begins previews 21 July and is set to run until 11 September.

Yes! Reflections of Molly Bloom will take place on the W. Scott McLucas Studio Stage. Adapted for the stage by Aedín Moloney and Colum McCann, the show follows Molly Bloom of James Joyce's Ulysses. With direction by John Keating and music by Paddy Moloney, Aedín Moloney will perform in the one-woman show. The production will also feature set design by Charlie Corcoran, costumes by Leon Dobkowski, lighting by Michael O'Connor, and sound by M. Florian Staab.

The Butcher Boy is the first musical adaptation of Patrick McCabe's novel, and the first original musical to be developed by Irish Repertory Theatre in eight years. The production will feature a book, music, and lyrics by Asher Muldoon, along with direction by Ciarán O’Reilly, music direction by David Hancock Turner, and choreography by Barry McNabb. Casting and additional creative team members will be announced at a later date. The show will take place on the Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage.

Tickets for Yes! Reflections of Molly Bloom go on sale on 10 May, and ticket information for The Butcher Boy will be announced at a later date.
