Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells to return to Broadway in GUTENBERG! THE MUSICAL

The Book of Mormon co-stars Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells will reunite on Broadway for Gutenberg! The Musical, which begins performances at the James Earl Jones Theatre on 15 September.

Written by Beetlejuice book writers Scott Brown and Anthony King, the musical will be directed by Alex Timbers who revisits the show after staging its 2006 Off-Broadway run.

The show presents a two-person performance of a musical about the inventor of the printing press, a harried backer's audition for an (until now) potential Broadway run. With just some rudimentary Google searches as their source, the duo delve into the world of historical fiction rather than the true story of Johannes Gutenberg. Gad and Rannells will play all the roles in what, ultimately, is a zany send-up of musical theatre.

The Broadway production features set design by Scott Pask, costumes by Emily Rebholz, lighting by Jeff Croiter, sound by Cody Spencer and M.L. Dogg, and casting by C12 Casting.
