Full casting announced for Shakespeare’s OTHELLO at Theatre Royal Haymarket

Full casting has been announced for Tom Morris’ highly anticipated new West End production of Shakespeare’s Othello, which plays at Theatre Royal Haymarket from 23 October 2025 - 17 January 2026.

Joining the already revealed David Harewood as Othello), Toby Jones as Iago, Caitlin FitzGerald as Desdemona, Vinette Robinson as Emilia and Luke Treadaway as Cassio are: David Ahmad as Gratiano, Gethin Alderman as Nicos/Understudy Roderigo & Lodovico), Ewan Black as Montano/Understudy Iago & Fight Captain, Tom Byrne as Roderigo, Jonathan Cobb as Telemachos/Understudy Cassio, Montano & Memet, Peter Guinness as Brabantio, Felix Hayes as Duke of Venice, Jasmin Hinds as Julio/Julia/Understudy Emilia, Bianca and Nicos, Wela Mbusi as Memet/Marcus/Understudy Othello and Telemachos, Jude Owusu as Lodovico, Tom Peters as Vincenzio/Understudy Brabantio, Duke of Venice and Gratiano, and Rose Riley as Bianca/Understudy Desdemona.

The explosive new production, which began rehearsals this week, is directed by Tony Award-winner Tom Morris, with music by PJ Harvey. This epic story of manipulation, jealousy and toxic masculinity explores the darker side of power, rage and desire.

This is the first of a series of contemporary Shakespeare productions created by Tom Morris for Chris Harper Productions to be staged in the West End over the next five years.

The production features design by Ti Green, sound design and additional music by Jon Nicholls, lighting by Richard Howell, projection design by Nina Dunn, casting by Anna Cooper CDG, movement and intimacy direction by Yarit Dor, fight direction by Kate Waters, make-up design by Dominic Skinner, hair and wig design by Suzanne Scotcher, voice coaching by Carol Fairlamb, dialect coaching by Aundrea Fudge, and singing coaching by Dom Coyote.
