Full casting announced for FURTHER THAN THE FURTHEST THING at Young Vic

Full casting has been announced for the Young Vic's upcoming production of Further than the Furthest Thing, which plays at the venue from 9 March-29 April 2023.

Zinnie Harris' award-winning play is set in 1961 on a remote island, based loosely on Tristan da Cunha, and is inspired by Harris' mother's memories of her childhood.

On a remote volcanic island in the middle of the Atlantic, a community has lived undisturbed for centuries, defying the swirling currents of modernity and capitalism. Cut off and exposed to the elements, their survival has created a complex bind with their land. But when one of the inhabitants brings an outsider to the island, their way of life is changed forever.

The cast includes Jenna Russell (Fun Home) as Mill, Cyril Nri (Trouble in Mind) as Bill, Gerald Kyd (The Seagull) as Mr Hansen, Archie Madekwe (Midsommar) as Francis, and Kirsty Rider (The Sandman) as Rebecca, with live vocalist Shapla Salique (No Boundaries).

The production is directed by Jennifer Tang, with design by Soutra Gilmour, lighting by Prema Mehta, sound by George Dennis, composition by Ruth Chan, movement by Ingrid Mackinnon, musical direction by Michael Henry, illusions by John Bulleid, and casting by Charlotte Sutton CDG.
