Full cast announced for KIMBERLY AKIMBO at Hampstead Theatre

Hampstead Theatre has announced the full cast for Michael Longhurst’s new production of the Tony Award-winning musical Kimberly Akimbo by David Lindsay-Abaire and Jeanine Tesori, which plays at the venue from 28 August - 7 November.

Joining the previously announced Maria Friedman as Kimberly Levaco will be Alice Fearn (Wicked; Come From Away, West End) as Debra, Peter Hannah (Waitress, West End) as Buddy Levaco, Gilli Jones (Brigadoon, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre) as Seth Weetis, and Niamh Perry (Love Never Dies, West End) as Pattie Levaco.

Also joining are Sara Hajizadeh as Teresa Benton and Ronav Jain as Aaron Puckett, who are both making their professional stage debuts, Robin Simões da Silva (Spring Awakening, Hope Mill Theatre) as Martin Doaty, and Aviva Tulley (Les Misérables, West End) as Delia McDaniels.

Director Michael Longhurst said: “I am thrilled to have cast such amazing talent to join the legend that is Maria Friedman to play her dysfunctional family and lovestruck classmates in Kimberly Akimbo. I can’t wait to get under the skin of David’s hilarious script and Jeanine’s incredible music with them all.”

The creatives joining director Michael Longhurst are designer Soutra Gilmour, musical supervisor Nigel Lilley, choreographer Matt Cole, lighting designer Jack Knowles, sound designer Matt Peploe, and casting director Anna Cooper CDG.

A profoundly funny and heartwarming musical, Kimberly Akimbo won five Tony Awards in 2023 including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book. The show follows 16-year old Kimberly Levaco whose rare genetic condition causes her to age four times faster than normal. As she navigates family chaos, first love and the growing pressures of adolescence, Kimberly is determined to find joy, connection and adventure while knowing time is not on her side.
