Elaine Paige releases new single ‘ONLY A LIFETIME’
Celebrated actress and singer Elaine Paige has released the first single ‘Only A Lifetime’ from her upcoming new album, Miscellaneous Paige.
‘Only A Lifetime’ is a stunning song which talks about making sure life is truly enjoyed and appreciated. The song is written by and was originally released by acclaimed singer/songwriter Finneas, Billie Eilish’s brother and winner of two Oscars, two Golden Globes and 11 Grammys.
Elaine said: “This song asks the simplest, yet hardest question; are we actually paying attention? It nudges us to notice the days as they happen, to stop assuming there will always be more, to treat the ordinary as something precious rather than automatic. It’s a wakeup call. A lifetime isn’t long, but it’s enough if we don’t sleepwalk through it.”
Miscellaneous Paige, released through Westway Music, brings together a hand-picked selection of songs which forms a personal time capsule with a few surprises thrown in for good measure. The album features 12 reimagined tracks with fresh arrangements that preserve the emotional truth of the originals.
Talking about the album, Elaine said: “It’s a collection of songs gathered over the years - a nostalgic reflection with the passage of time as its central thread. Some are old companions, by writers from my youth, including Jim Webb, Harry Nilsson, the Beatles, Bacharach & David and The Bee Gees, they taught me everything - joy, heartbreak and the importance of rewinding a cassette with a pencil. Others are newer discoveries which simply resonate with me. Their story-telling and meaningful lyrics evoke the same emotions for me, all these years later, I hope the same can be said for you.”
