DEATH NOTE: THE MUSICAL first week of London Barbican summer season sells out in 24 hours

Following the hugely anticipated announcement that worldwide phenomenon DEATH NOTE: THE MUSICAL will open at the Barbican Theatre this summer, the entire first week of performances has sold out within just 24 hours of tickets going on sale, with remaining tickets selling at record speed.

Demand for the new musical has been overwhelming, with thousands of fans from across the globe securing seats within hours of the general sale opening. This much-anticipated reimagined production will open on 30 July for a limited six-week season.

The worldwide phenomenon DEATH NOTE: THE MUSICAL, comes to the Barbican Theatre this summer in a world premiere of a brand-new production, featuring a revised script and newly written songs alongside the original acclaimed score. Following 10 years of acclaimed sold-out productions across Asia and record-breaking concerts at the London Palladium.

Based on the international best-selling Japanese manga of the same name by Tsugumi Ohba, Takeshi Obata and Shueisha, this award-winning musical features a score by Tony, Grammy and Emmy Award nominated composer Frank Wildhorn and lyrics by Tony Award-nominated Jack Murphy, and a book by Emmy-nominated Ivan Menchell.

Alongside Wildhorn, this new production brings together an acclaimed creative team behind some of the West End’s biggest hits, including director Stephen Whitson, Emmy-nominated designer Jon Bausor, and choreographer Olivier Award nominated Fabian Aloise, alongside orchestrator and arranger Jason Howland, with additional lyrics by Morgan Reilly. Together, this creative team will bring scale, theatrical power, and contemporary energy to the world of Death Note.
