Chronic Insanity have today launched a new interactive digital theatre experience with PNOC.io, a modern retelling of Pinocchio.

PNOC.io explores the impact of artificial intelligence within society, reflecting on the influence of tech companies in everyday life, for better or for worse. Those taking part will be invited to join tech company Stromboli, taking on a secret mission to deliver tests on the latest AI model PNOC. Audiences will navigate their way through a choose-your-own-adventure format to take the outcome of the story into their own hands.

The production sets out to challenge how we view our relationship with technology by offering a glimpse into a not-to-distant future, delving into the ethics of tech companies, the rights of artificial intelligence and the spread of information.

Writer Joe Strickland said: “I always think that Artificial Intelligence is misunderstood by people. They think it’s going to be something big, scary, and threatening, but it doesn’t have to be that at all. The future of AI, and how it helps or harms humanity and this planet, is down to us. I want this experience to put the audience in a thought-provoking position; to give them an option to meaningfully change the future of technology, for better or for worse.”

The company bringing PNOC.io to life includes Michelle Michaels, Jack Henderson, Abbi Davey, Vimal Korpal, Iain Gibbons and Miles Kinsley. The show runs online from 23 July to 6 August with pay what you can tickets available here.
