Casting announced for Royal Exchange’s Christmas musical SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN

A timeless masterpiece, and perhaps one of the greatest musicals ever made, SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN, the Exchange's must-see show for Christmas 2025, has announced the cast for this tap-dancing extravaganza.

The much-loved story of the highs and lows of Hollywood as a radical move is made from silent movies to the ‘talkies’ and all told through the eyes of the dashing film star Don Lockwood, played by Louis Gaunt (Brigadoon, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre); Lina Lamont, played by Laura Baldwin (101 Dalmatians, Eventim Apollo); Cosmo Brown, played by Danny Collins (Titus Andronicus, RSC/Hampstead Theatre); and Kathy Selden, played by Carly Mercedes Dyer (Anything Goes, West End).

Having raised the roof off the theatre with his smash-hit production THE PRODUCERS, director Raz Shaw returns with his thrilling new version of this glorious musical inspired by the classic Hollywood film.

Featuring all the iconic songs audiences know and love, such as ‘Make ‘em Laugh’, ;Good Mornin’,’ Moses Supposes’ and of course the iconic title song, ‘Singin’ In The Rain’, and seamlessly blending song and dance, this much-loved musical will put audiences themselves in the heart of the action on the Exchange's iconic in-the-round stage from 29 November 2025 - 18 January 2026.

Also in the cast are Carl Sanderson (Kiss Me, Kate, Kilworth House Theatre) as Roscoe Dexter, Clancy Ryan (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, West End) as Dora Bailey, and Julius D’Silva (& Juliet, West End) as RF Simpson.

Completing the cast are Tanisha-Mae Brown (Brigadoon, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre), Adam Davidson (Grease, UK & Ireland Tour), Frances Dee (The Great Gatsby, West End), Zac Frieze (A Knight’s Tale, Manchester Opera House), Jessica Keable (Chicago, UK Tour), Gregor McCann (professional debut), Benjamin Mundy (The Producers, Royal Exchange Theatre), Ria Tanaka (Your Lie in April, West End), and Thomas Walton (Mamma Mia!, West End)

The creative team also includes choreographer Alistair David, music supervisor, orchestrator & additional arrangements by Matthew Malone, set & costume designer Richard Kent, lighting designer Jack Knowles, sound designer Yvonne Gilbert, and casting director Will Burton.
