Casting announced for Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre’s ROMEO & JULIET

Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre have confirmed the casting for the titular roles in their upcoming version of ‘Romeo & Juliet’. The show which will open the 2021 season on Thursday 17 June will feature Joel MacCormack and Isabel Adomakoh Young as Romeo and Juliet.

MacCormack has recently played the role of John Jasper in BBC Radio 4’s dramatization of ‘The Mystery of Edwin Drood’ and has featured in Steven Spielberg’s film ‘Ready Player One’. Adomakoh Young was part of the RSC for the 2019 Swan Season and has gone on to write a trilogy entitled ‘The Lionboy’ with her mum under the pseudonym Zizou Corder which has been adapted for the stage by Complicité.

The production will be directed by Kimberley Sykes and further casting will be announced in due course.

Artwork for the production which has been created by Feast Creative has been released following their initial photoshoot in March 2020.

The 2021 season will follow all necessary covid guidelines as long as it is needed, this will include a 50% reduction in capacity.
