Cast announced for A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM at Shakespeare’s Globe
Shakespeare’s Globe has announced the cast and creative team for A Midsummer Night's Dream, which plays in the Globe Theatre from 23 April – 29 August.
The cast includes Audrey Brisson (Amélie the Musical, West End) as Hippolyta/Titania, Sophie Cox (Playfight, Soho Theatre/UK tour) as Hermia, Jamal Franklin (Little Shop of Horrors, Sheffield Crucible) as Snug, Michael Grady-Hall (Twelfth Night, RSC) as Puck, Gareth Kennerley (Great Expectations, Mercury Theatre) as Egeus/Flute, Mel Lowe (A Christmas Carol, Sheffield Crucible) as Lysander, Victoria Moseley (My Brilliant Friend, National Theatre) as Quince, Enyi Okoronkwo (King James, Hampstead Theatre) as Oberon/Theseus, Em Prendergast (Animal Farm, Leeds Playhouse/Stratford East) as Snout, Adrian Richards (Noises Off!, West End) as Bottom, Gavi Singh Chera (Indian Ink, Hampstead Theatre/Theatre Royal Bath) as Demetrius, and Romaya Weaver (The Cabinet Minister, Menier Chocolate Factory) as Helena.
Director Emily Lim says: “I feel so lucky and excited to be collaborating with such a wonderfully skilled, witty, playful and generous group of artists to bring our new version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream to life. We can’t wait to welcome and surprise our audiences and bring a big dose of joy and magic to the Globe this summer!”
Alongside director Lim, the creative team includes composer Jim Fortune, costume design concept by Fly Davis, designer Aldo Vázquez, fight and intimacy director Haruka Kuroda, movement director and choreographer James Cousins, orchestrator and arranger Zac Gvi, voice and text coach Simon Money, and casting director Juliet Horsley CDG.
