Cast recording EP released for LOVESTUCK: A NEW COMEDY MUSICAL

Stratford East and Wildpark Entertainment have announced the EP release for Lovestuck: A New Comedy Musical, which is now available to listen to on all major streaming platforms, including Apple Music and Spotify.

The four-song collection, which has music by Bryn Christopher and Martin Batchelar, and lyrics by Bryn Christopher and James Cooper, is available digitally worldwide.

Recorded with Auburn Jam at their studio, the EP features the originating cast of Lovestuck: A New Comedy Musical, including Marcus Ayton, Jessica Boshier, Ambra Caserotti, Callum Connolly, Holly Liburd, Johan Munir and Shane O'Riordan. The production premieres at Stratford East from 6 June – 12 July.

The tracks released are:

‘Lovestuck’: Our leads Lucy and Peter are sharing horror stories with friends about dating apps and romantic misfires over drinks at a buzzing bar. They’re frustrated, fed up, and very much not feeling the love.

‘Picture Perfect’: Scrolling. Comparing. Spiralling. Lucy’s deep in the social media doomscroll and feeling the pressure of perfect lives, flawless filters and curated happiness. This song dives into that all-too-relatable moment when you start to wonder: am I chasing the life I want… or the one I think I’m supposed to want?

‘More or Less’: Lucy and Peter are overthinking everything on their first date — what to wear, what to say, how much of themselves to show. But as nerves give way to real connection, the two slowly begin to let their guards down. Could being more real and less performative be the secret to something special?

‘Everybody's Got Their Sh*t’: This big, fun closing anthem is a rallying cry for messy humans everywhere. Ultimately, we’re all dealing with stuff — and that’s not just normal, it’s beautifully human. So embrace the chaos, because perfection is a myth and nobody’s got it all together (no matter what their Instagram says).

James Cooper (Book & Lyrics), Bryn Christopher (Music & Lyrics) and Martin Batchelar (Music) said: "Lovestuck has been years in the making, so we are very excited to be finally releasing some of the tracks from our new original musical out into the world. We hope these four songs give a glimpse into the spirit of the show: fun, catchy pop melodies, tongue-in-cheek lyrics, and a lot of heart. Listen now and then go book tickets to see the show because there's plenty more to hear - we hope audiences will be humming the tunes as they leave the theatre!"
