Cast album and tour dates announced for THE PICTURE OF DORIAN GRAY musical

The Picture of Dorian Gray: A New Musical has released its full studio cast album along with it’s first wave of tour dates, with casting to be announced next month.

The full studio cast album has been released on all major streaming platforms for the new musical, which will be touring the UK from October. Initial dates have been announced for Darlington, Halifax, Weymouth, Lowestoft, Kettering, Malvern, Runcorn, Blackpool, Llandudno, Swansea, Barnstaple, Newcastle, Wakefield, Aberdeen, Perth and New Brighton.

The new production, which bills itself as a “traditionally styled and staged, sung through musical, faithful to the original text” is based on Oscar Wilde’s enduring gothic 1890’s novel.

The producers have hinted at there being a staged concert version of the show in London in the weeks prior to the tour beginning and that this will be confirmed after casting is announced in April.

The music and lyrics of the 27-song strong album are written by Mark J. Middlemiss, and the soundtrack is heavily inspired by the ‘mega-musicals’ of the 70’s and 80’s. Telling the classic faustian story of Dorian Gray, a young man who trades his morality for eternal youth and beauty.
