Bobbie Little to join cast of world premiere of new musical COVEN at Kiln Theatre

Kiln Theatre has announced that Bobbie Little (Military Wives, York Theatre Royal; The Witches, National Theatre) will now play Edmund/Covell in the world premiere of new musical Coven, which continues to play at the London venue from 17 January.

Bobbie will step into the role from 2 January, with Diana Vickers withdrawing from the production due to unforeseen personal circumstances.

Coven has music and lyrics by Grammy Award-winning Daisy Chute with Rebecca Brewer, a book by Rebecca Brewer, and is directed by Olivier Award winner Miranda Cromwell.

Also in the cast are Allyson Ava-Brown as Nell/Elizabeth, Rachel Barnes (Ensemble), Gabrielle Brooks as Jennet, Shiloh Coke as Frances/Alizon, Rosalind Ford as King James/Ensemble, Penny Layden as Martha/Judge, Holly Mallett (Ensemble), Lauryn Redding as Rose, Kathryn Tindall (Ensemble), Jacinta Whyte as Maggie, and Jennifer Whyte on Keys.

1612. Pendle, Lancashire. A witch hunt is raging and a 9-year-old Jennet accuses her own family of witchcraft. 21 years later, she finds herself imprisoned, surrounded by the most feared women in town. As the accuser becomes the accused, Jennet must confront a 250-year legacy of witchcraft and the dark secrets of her own past. As she listens to the shocking stories of the women around her, Jennet’s faith begins to crumble.

The creative team includes set and costume designer Jasmine Swan, lighting designer Zeynep Kepekli, sound designer Helen Atkinson, musical supervisor Jennifer Whyte, choreographer Shelley Maxwell, puppetry director Laura Cubitt, and casting director Rosie Pearson for Pearson Casting CDG, with dramaturgy by Tom Wright, and voice coaching by Hazel Holder.
